- Project Location: Singapore
- Project Area: 750 sq ft (70 sqm)
- Core Objective: To design a flagship pavilion within a compact 750 sq ft space that encapsulates the profound 150-year legacy, timeless luxury, and contemporary functionality of the European jewelry house, Kuhn & Komor.
Case Study: A Contemporary Lens on Legacy
This project translates the storied heritage of Kuhn & Komor into a tangible, immersive spatial experience. MBL DISPLAY deconstructed the brand's iconic visual DNA-emerald green and gilded gold-reinterpreting it through a modern design vocabulary. We moved beyond literal historical reproduction, employing high-gloss lacquer, tempered glass, and precision metalwork to frame curated vintage details. The result is a hybrid space that functions both as a narrative-driven "micro-museum" and a sophisticated retail environment.
Spatial Highlight Analysis

The Facade: A Prologue in Emerald and Gold
The entry establishes gravitas. A deep emerald green lacquered wall serves as a backdrop for the gilded brand insignia and founding date "Est. 1869". Full-height glazing acts as a transparent veil, framing the interior splendor and setting a tone of silent reverence before entry.

The Central Gallery: A Curated Stage
A circular black-and-gold island display commands the space as a focal point. It is complemented by a feature wall adorned with antique frames and clocks, creating a dialogue between the jewelry on display and artifacts of time, enhancing the gallery-like ambiance.

The Treasury: Symmetry and Ceremony
The main display zone employs a formal symmetrical layout. Large vertical vitrines and the central podium are lined with plush emerald green velvet, providing a flawless stage that amplifies the jewels' brilliance. Selected objets d'art complete the narrative of refined heritage.

The Artistic Partition: Symbol and Function
A custom emerald green partition elegantly divides the space. Inlaid mirrors amplify the sense of depth, while the brand's gilded crane emblem becomes a focal art piece. The structure itself incorporates display cases, blending symbolic identity, spatial illusion, and utility.

The Exploration Gallery: Systematic Serenity
A full wall of open black and gold shelving offers a systematic yet elegant product presentation. Concealed linear lighting ensures impeccable clarity, while tiered velvet displays organize the collection. This zone fosters a quiet, focused browsing experience with intuitive flow.

The VIP Salon: Dialogue in Refined Comfort
The consultation area extends the brand's palette into an intimate setting. Warm brown walls and emerald green velvet seating define a cozy, exclusive atmosphere. Display niches with curated artifacts integrate brand culture into the personal consultation process.
Project Outcome
MBL DISPLAY successfully distilled the essence of Kuhn & Komor's century-old narrative into a compelling 750 sq ft destination in Singapore. By reimagining classic codes through a contemporary framework, we created a versatile pavilion that acts as a brand museum, product gallery, and exclusive salon. This space strengthens client affinity and solidifies the brand's authoritative presence for a discerning audience.
